Cool video, but with a $25 net the fish would have had a good chance of survival. That SBFT is pretty well spent.

that fish must be damn near exhasted 'cause when I try it with albies and bonito they cycle their tails so hard its impossible to grip them.
P.S. - I heard that the touch of human hands to albies leaves terrible scars and wounds to the fish's skin, making it vulnerable to disease, is that true?

Not sure about the scars, but fish with smaller to no scales, generally have a thicker slime coat which also means they are less prone to disease and parasites. Not sure if this offers any kind of explanation to your question though.
As for the release, we chose to spend the $25 on a knife:brow . That fish was bound for the table long before we left the ramp so it was babied in. I probably should have mentioned this when I first posted it. Below is a pic of the release;) (read: sarcasm, I agree with your assessment). Every fish we catch or caught is brought in green and handled with care as quickly as possible when not intended for the table, even on the fly. No doubt some die, no doubt some schoolie bass or snapper blues die too. Just the nature of the sport. I can tell you that we do try to be as procactive about keeping them as healthy as possible and do our best to send them back kicking hard. That one person grab was not repeated on fish we intend to release, it was just for the video.
Glad there was no blood in the video or I would have started a riot:eek: (also sarcasm:-% )

You're making my mouth water; just thinking of some of that fresh sashimi from this past season. :)
