WHERE'S THE LITTLE COMPTON RUN?

i own three black labs, and my vet is in little compton r.i. so,.....where's this herring run??
with three dogs, i'm at the vets every other week. i'd like to stop by and see the masacre.

I am not sure if there is more than one in town but the one that I am familiar with is at the far eastern end of South Shore beach. Also known as Goosewing. This run is not a far swim as the spawning pond is right behind the parking area but it is very tidal or rainfall dependent. I was there Wednesday morning and not enough water flowing for any herring at that time. Also, the river mouth shifts with every south swell and measurable rainfall.

Take Main Rd./77 South through Tiverton and take a right turn onto Pond Bridge Rd just a few miles past tiverton Four corners. You'll see the fish ladder about 1/2 mile on the rt as it drains out of Nonquit Pond.
