Cotuit finally gave up a couple of 20-22 inch fish for me near Loop Beach early this AM on the incoming. Until today, most of the Cotuit bay action was way inside, at least for me. They wouldn't touch a fly but gobbled a Rattletrap plug.

Later in the AM, tried the Bass River mouth (well, maybe 300 yds up from the mouth) on the incoming with no success. Moved up to Highbank, where twinkies were breaking just below the bridge. Picked up a few on jigs and swimmers. Have also heard reports that Grand Cove further down river is hot.

Stopped by the Canal at noon to check things out, not to fish. One guy had a just-legal keeper tethered and was catching an occasional 18 inch schoolie. The two other guys that were there said it was slow. The amount of herring queued up to enter the ladder is incredible. I walked nearly to the Cribbin and could still see school after school of herring tight to the rocks.

For what it's worth, I didn't see any warden, EPO, or Corp officials on duty when I was there, probably because the catching service wasn't open at that time of day.
