ambergris lodging recommendation?

i'm taking my wife to ambergis late feb.early march, 8-10 days.
a little guided flyfishing a little relaxing.
stay at what place? rent a house? resort ?condo? kitchen?
i need your help.

is a great lodge. Pretty reasonable. Great guides, great people who run it. Journey's End really sucked when I went there so we actually left and spent the last 2 nights at El Pescador. No idea about the do-it-yourself option.

We stayed at Banana Beach two years ago and we arranged two Flyfishing trips through the hotel. We also did a day offshore that we arranged in town. Banana beach was fantastic, BTW.

I stayed at the Capircorn. Highly recommend it! Staff was great, resturant is one of the best on the island.

Fished in Placencia with a guide. Fished Ambergris solo.
