I'm fishing Montauk Columbus Day weekend and was wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for flies to tie for bass and albies. Thanks, Flatwing.

Flatwingflinger,
Anything that looks like a bay anchovie, small epoxies are my choice on 2 & 4 hooks, anywhere from 1-3" in length.that time of year the bass maybe blitzing but they won't be monsters so they can be landed on the small hooks. Great time of year to be there enjoy!

Here's some of what I'm tying for my October 1-4 trip

-Skok's whitebait mushy in seafoam green/white, rootbeer(redish brown)/white, olive/white
-Albie Whores
-Boylemakers in olive/white, all white
-Clousere in olive/white, rootbeer/white
-Crease flies in olive/white, rootbeer/white, blue/white

All on size 1/0, 1 Owner and size 4 Tiemco hooks

1/0 clousers tied lefty kreh style- white bucktail w/ a littel pearl flashabou mixed in. top it with natural bucktail (from the brown side of the tail- the lighter brown the better) with a little copper and/or gold krystal flash mixed in. they work really well for albies and school size bass when they are eating anchovies.

for bigger bass down deep big half & half's work really well...
3/0 or 4/0 hook- 4 to 6 big white saddle hackles (i splay mine for more action) pearl diamond braid body- for a wing chartruese over white with some gold flash mixed in works good. the other wing color that i like is white bucktail then mix a couple colors of flashy wing material or rainbow krystal flash then mix a small amount of pink and purple bucktail together and top that off with olive bucktail.

good luck thats a great time of year out there.....

All of the above are great, I would add Rhody Chovies with pink or blue craft fur on top.
