i still haven't fished the canal this season. however, i did see these fish. two different guys, each had a decent keeper, each about 35". i also saw another short released.

on another note. you can't swing a dead cat down there without hitting a warden, state or town. so, as my mother would say: "if your going there for ficky-mickey's (no good), you'll be surprised."

In re: the aspect of enforcement- Remember how many people have complained about lack of enforcement in the past? well, that "complaint thread" has been transmitted to DFWELE through their reading of this and other fishing websites. So many cracked about not seeing the enforcement, it was brought to their attention. Shouldn't cause a problem unless there is a bit of over-zealousness, and anybody can inform the area commander if they think something's afoul. In the meanwhile, we all asked for it, now we've got it. Maybe there won't be so many "drunken poacher" comments now.
