As Jim would say, I have entered the town of my birth...I was ready, the fish weren't.
Classic case of bad timing. Big waves kept me shorebound. --124-3 Oh well I figured, I will get bonito from shore. Then I saw the red tide. I have never seen a fall red tide. Redondo harbor looked like it was full of blood--I have never seen it so red before. :eek: What is happening to the water quality in Santa Monica bay? Where have all the bonito gone?
I even tried the Oceanside pier. Perfect conditions, no bonito--just dozens of mackerel on the splasher and feather.
I am cursed on the tuna type fishies this year! :mad:
One last shot tomorrow am--expecting the skunk. Something to think about on the long ride home.
