S. County, RI Report

Fished Sat PM and Sun AM in the Watch Hill area. Sporadic bass feeding actvity from midafternoon changed to showers of peanut bunker as the sun went down and the fish moved in. Fair numbers of schoolies in tight. More intense activity Sun just after dawn. Took several fish both days to 28". Decent weather and and not a bad result for roughly 3-4 hours on the water and my first trip out this year.

I was out there myself early this AM, but east of where you were yesterday. Really not much going on. The two hours of pre-dawn produced one nice hit and miss on a big plug. After sunup, there were sporadic schools of marauding 4-7 lb blues cruising the shore line. Picked up a couple on poppers. No bass mixed in. Some birds working off Misquamicut, but well offshore. Still on the early side down here for the main run.
