pretty sloppy\windy for the kayak today, but i went out anyway, having driven all the way from framingham. tossed a fin-s behind the yak as i headed towards calmer\and what i hoped were fishy waters. 5 minutes into it, the rod goes off with the drag singing. as soon as i pick up on the rod, i can feel there's a heavy fish there; and a problem too: a funny sensation that i soon dicover is my line being wrapped around something...rocks or a pot, i would guess. quickly broken off. finaly make it over to a "rock garden" and find some fiest mid20's fish in the rough water near shore. still can't get my head away from the break off, so i return to trolling along the edge of the rocks where they meet deeper water. this is where i connect with large lost fish (LLF) #2. manage to drop it while trying to clear a second rod. short while later, LLF #3 slams the fin-s and manages to make it's escape with a pulled hook. chased some birs here and there: the bigger fish elused me whil i was clearing a zara from throat-hooked bass, and then a gull (my third bird of the season). some bluefish cut-offs in the mix, and one more ost fish on the troll back. great morning of action, but the LLF were a little trying on my sparse patience. fished were busting on peanuts....

btw: i'm beginning to think that fishing solo might not be the best idea during the colder, rougher months; that the buddy system could prove to make a big difference should someone get in trouble. if you have a yak and want to hook up...drop me a line.

MOstly resigned to weekends, but I'm more than likely to buddy up if I'm heading out. Probably hit the NS on sunday (most likely evening).
