Spent a few hours in my partner's boat today. Lot's of terns working the water, cormorants in tow, but no signs of gamefish. Three other boats we spoke to were also skunked. The highlight of the day was the spotting of four
white herons. We drifted within 50 feet before they launched in a slow motion movie into the SE breeze. Beautiful. I was thinking of Japanese gardens and the sadness Audobon felt when he shot a heron to paint and log it's details.
Rain pebbled across the inlet just as we pulled out. Spring.
