For some good information on the cape ann area look up RIVERS EDGE TRADING, Beverly MA. Capt. Rick Southgate puts out the fishing report on the area of Gloucester, Essex and Plum island, GOOD LUCK

I've been out yesterday & tdoay in the Salem/Marblehead area , a little south of you. I got one hit on a herring chunk, but that's as close a I've got to one of the Striped Ones. Plenty of herring around - I caught a bunch from Beverly pier, and a few in Salem Harbor.

On the other hand, I keep meeting people who tell me they've just released a little striper (12-15"), but I haven't seen one yet.My guess is that there are probably some fish around, but they're a) small and b) few & far between. Another week?
