I'm heading to South Florida the first week of November. Does anyone know of a good place to fish for Peacock Bass down there. I've heard some say to fish the canals and lakes, but can anyone give any more specific info? Thanks

Try to obtain a copy of the March 2005 issue of Fly Fisherman magazine or the Carlos Hildago book: South Florida's Peacock Bass. Both have the information, with the book having a substantially larger amount of copy & flies to have!

Thanks, I'll try to get the magazine, that is not one I subscribe to. I've heard of the book and have tried to get a copy at Amazon and other websites, but can't find one anywhere.

Might be able to obtain a copy from Carlos Hidalgo - c/o CatFish Books, Inc - PO Box 26087 - Tamarac, FL 33320-6087 or 1-888-347-4422 or catfishbk@aol.com These were in the book, but it was published in 1997; so they may be out of date.

This site has printable maps of the canals for Peacocks. I also got good info from The FlyShop of Ft. Lauderdale on Federal Highway near Atlantic. Pretty much the same as the maps and he was right on as to fly selection.

e mail this guy - Luis Campos - his email is flywater@charter.net. I know he has caught some big ones on fly in the canals on the south side of Miami.
