I put the kayak in at the Lieutenant River Sunday morning and rode the tide down and across to Old Saybrook and then paddled back on the slack. I trolled as I went, looking for concentrations of fish to cast to. I ended up with five schoolies up to 20", but never found any fishing to rave about. There were a few boats out, but nobody seemed to be catching a lot. There were a ton of boats about a mile off the river mouth looking for fluke.
