I stumbled upon that online yesterday. At first glance at that photo I thought someone was "enhancing" the picture, but it's real.

I guess she won the "biggest striper from a boat" category. I suspect she will be the winner of the brand-new pickup truck. Lessee . . . . she's 12, by the time she's old enough to drive, her Dad will have wore it out!

The format of the awards go: Top four boat finishers
all get ONE key to a lock (randomly drawn). Which
ever key unlocks the lock wins the truck.

We were all goofing on the family... spoze it's Sunday
morning, they're all at breakfast and dad asks "Hey
kid... can I borrow your pick-up?" <Hehehehehe>

Nice fish nonetheless.

I'll say this.... one hell of a fish. Raises a question though, should there be charter/rec categories? If I had a 48 that I spent many nights in the rain to get, I might feel a little cheated.

Doesn't really matter - cause I am not close to that fish anyway......

That fish actualy won her four different catagories...biggest fish from boat, biggest fish in the junior catagory, largest overall fish, largest fish caught by a female.......that is a nice bass!! what an awesome sight!!! Congratulations Molly!!!

That article must be wrong! According to local Fox News it was a Sea bass caught at the Martha's Vineyard Sea Bass tourney.

I saw that on Fox 25 news at 5:30 AM. I sat upright, because I did not know that "sea bass" were a category for the MV Derby.

Kudos to any 12 year old for hauling in a fish that size. Put that on her resume when she is applying to colleges!

I picked up on that Sea Bass thing too.

How can a reporter make such a basic mistake?
