For my first bonefishing experience. Have tied been tying flies all summer, disappointed in only being able to take 210 bonefish flies. Also bringing a box of clousers, poppers, half-and-halfs, etc for 'cudas and other spp.
Any last minute advice? Any recommended places to eat? To stay away from?

I don't know where you'll be staying, we usually stay near Gov. Harbour, for food Tippy's, Coco di Mama are probably the best. Mate and Jennys is ok but overpriced. Stay away from Unique Village. Pammy's Take Away is good take out food. You can also get fresh fish almost every afternoon in Gov. Harbour and Tarpum Bay, the fish isn't cheap but boy are the snapper and grouper good. Now with this information forwarded you're required to post a complete report upon your return. I just finished booking two weeks in Feb., it's too far away. Good luck. Be patient.

Hope you tied up some Veverka's Mantis shrimp patterns (size 4 & 6 ) in tan. They worked really well for me as did my Ultimate Shrimp flies.
Plan on using really long leaders to avoid spooking Eleu's fussy bones on the splashdown. In April, I rigged up with a 4ft. 40lb. flouro butt section...loop to looped to either 9 or 12 foot flouro tapered leaders. Worked real great and aided in turning the leader over in the wind.
Liquor stores aren't open on Sunday so be sure to stock up.
Keep left!!! he he!

A report will be posted shortly after returning. With pics, if possible.
I've heard mixed reviews of the restaurant in the Cigatoo Inn. Yea/neigh?

Cigatoo is ok. Don't forget the Friday night fish fry in Gov. Harbour.

Yeah...the fish fry is great and the music loud...
...but have the wood BBQ'd chicken with Johnny bread, rice'n'peas with a side of cole slaw!!!...one or two Rum Bubbah's and you'll be staggering back home.
Don't drink and drive!...especially on friday nights on Eleu.

Find someplace where you can have boil fish (not "boiled") with bird pepper and Johnny cakes (easy on the pepper) and have that for breakfast every day before you go out fishing. You be one wit da bones, Mon! Don't get no better.

We won't miss the fish fry, Tippys or Mate and Jenny's for food.
Tied up more Veverka's Mantis on your recommendation, Henry. A couple more small crab flies tonight and I'm finished tying for this trip.

One more piece of advice...when you manage to place your fly in the path of cruising bones on Eleuthera without spooking it over to Andros Is...strip very gently or even just nymph-crawl the fly untill you get the fishes attention. Once they move in on it...aggressive 6" to 1ft strips are the tactic that worked for me. Don't let the bones get a good look at the fly and or leader.
They'll eat unless they're so close to you that they get uncomfortable.
PS...anywhere on Eleuthera that looks even somewhat "Boney" will have fish at certain times. The more remote or "unobvious" the area...the better chance you'll have at finding stupid fish...grin!!! :)
Have a great time!
