Hurricane Wilma blasted through and brought some serious storm surge. Most of the island was covered from a few inches to 5 feet of water. Luckily, I had no damage to life, limb or property. The boat rode out on a rack at Murray Marine and the water came up as far as the props.

Most of Key West is already back in good shape. Many people lost their cars in the surge and any low homes flooded on the ground level. Power is back on in most of Key West although no cable tv or phone service. Most bars and restaurants on Duval street are open today. Hotels are opening back up today and tomorrow.

Went out today for a spin in the boat and a couple hors of fishing. Water temp is down to 80-81 and the grouper and offshore fishing will be spectacular for a few weeks and then get back to normal. Hooked a couple of Black Grouper and a Mutton Snapper. Now all we need is for everyone to visit Key West this winter.
