Perhaps the wrong chat room....I am lucky enough to be heading down to Puerta Vallarta Mexico during the first week of December. Any of you have any experience good or bad? Reccomendations to a guide? Looks like off shore is the way to go? Any inshore, or even shore FLY opportunites??
Any insight to ways I might be able to get myself in trouble, on shore are a plus too....... :brow

I chartered a few trips with pvfishing.com. Big fleet if you have a big party or you can rent parts of other day trips and share the boat. Great if you go alone. They are the best down there. Bring a hat and the white zinc for the nose or you will burn bad.
Try to get on a boat with hector. He's the best and kind of a local legend. Enjoy!

Just got back from PV. Offshore fishing (from what I heard) is a little off. Managed a 9' Striped Marlin in 6hrs of fishing. Beginning of December should be good for Marilin and Big Yellowfin. We fished a charter boat called EL AMO. They were pretty good not great, I noticed more on the water than they did (fish busting spotting bait etc..). We negotiated the price down there it was only $550 for the day. Highly recommend going there to see what is going on rather than reserving something now.

Forgot to mention bring the flyrod for shore fishing. I caught little jacks and red snappers from shore. Imagine there is more out there just did not put the time in flyfishing from shore. You can rent little boats (pengas?) for about $35/hr and you should be able to get into skippies or bonito (our false albacore).

9' striped marlin is pretty damm good --127-3- it seems trolling and Marlin get most of the hype........Inshore Penga idea does sound more interesting, sounds a bit more friendly to the FLY and more affordable.
Thanks for the info. (#$119)
