I.m going to Akumal in June 2006. My wife loves the beach, and of course I love to fish. Please tell me There is fishing nearby (no more than half hour away). Thanks!

Just do a search in this forum, keywords mayan riviera, akumal, boca paila, yucatan, there's lots of information in here. You could always try Dan Blanton's board too, http://www.danblanton.com/bulletin.php.

Lots and lots of fishing, but what kind? Flats? (bonefish, permit), Inshore (jacks, snook, permit), offshore (sailfish, marlin, tuna, dorado)? It's all there.
Lot's of help available, but it would be better if you could narrow your selection a little. Or not. --126-3-

(edit) here's a very cool website with aerial photos of the Mexican Riviera http://www.locogringo.com/akumal/ (look under maps)

Excellant website (locogringos). My wife and I travel to the area every winter and this site with all the photos and maps is better than anything we have been able to find in the past. We are unsure about cancelling this year due to storm.

Thanks
