What's with the killer baccteria in the marsh muds down your way? I guess it is the same bacteria that is found in some oysters and in some people can either kill them of cause them to loose apendages.
There has to be a lot of people wet wading down there, are they all at risk, or is it only people with health issues?

The bug is Vibrio fulnificus , found in marsh waters, not associated with pollution.
Last year there was a minor outbreak of it in Port O'Connor because the marsh and weather conditions were correct and the usual vicims were at the right place at the right time to get it.
As a matter of fact, that area has some excellent oyster beds I raided just one month previous to the outbreak. I consumed 12-15 dozen raw oysters (some of them so big I had to cut them into thirds so they would fit on my saltine cracker). I never got sick.
Google it up for the details.
