Montauk anyone?

At this time last year Montauk was simply sick in a wonderful way-can anyone give me a report on what's happening out there right now?

Made the run over from CT on Sat am.
Didnt see many boats hooking up.
Some bluefish on top.
I caught 2 bass 34&36 inches on eels.
In 30 ft of water.
Marking few fish but lots of bait.
Seagulls chasing the Blues around.

Mr. Brown - no fish sat am, we were only boat at montuak point b/t 7 and 8. a few rat blues, otherwise a ghosttown. looks like we'll be fishing in the december snow. bluefishhead

Are you talking boat or surf? I was out there on the beaches Monday and Tuesday. No action except for a few rats. Water was wild due to the storm, fish would have been blown in had they been there but apparently they weren't. Heard that herring started to show since then but still slow.

I fished the Point in the early A.M. on Saturday morning. Didn't see anyone hook up and the surf was very rough. I got soaked and the air temps were in the low 30s.
That's it for Montauk this year as far as I'm concerned. :)
