...and where can I get it. I honestly dont even know if this is what it is called but what I want is a product that will restore some shine and take out the scratches on my rods.

Think of the finish on your rods as similiar to that of your car. Nothing works as nice as some Mother's.

I'm fond of Meguiar's. The cleaner wax particularly... For those of you who will be fishing the tropics a lot, there may be a better way that doesn't involve wax....
Friends and customers of mine have turned me on to "303 Protectant" it's a serious UV inhibitor that has some added bonuses for fly fishers. I particularly like the way it leaves a fly rod finish super slick, fly lines act like they're brand new and have just been cleaned and coated, shooting line is noticeably easier. I also use the stuff on boat seats and any plastic surface that needs protecting. Just spray it on and wipe it off. I haven't found and downside (such as the problems caused by Armor-all)...

Plain old furniture polish also works well for a quick fix. Not very durable though.
