I am thinking about making a trip to south andros in Feb. (probably the second or third week). I was wondering how fishing usually is during that period and what I can expect weather wise.

This February will be my third February in a row fishing Andros, and the fishing has been very good - many shots at large bonefish. The weather, of course is the primary risk/variable - it's still quite warm (especially compared to the northeast) but you do get fronts that come through that bring either clouds, wind or both, and that makes for much tougher (if not impossible) bonefishing. Flip side, as I said is that it is a great time for large bonefish.

It happens to be a time of year when schedules for the group of guys I fish with mesh, so we go then, and we have not been disappointed - it is not, however, anything like say, November, when I've also fished Andros, when you see hundreds of bonefish every day. They're still there in good numbers, but I think there is a real premium on having a good guide and patioence and flexibility in February.

I am also thinking about south Andros in Feb.even during the cold fronts we manage to catch bones, fishing to "nervous water"and wading very carefully.last Feb,we caught some very large fish on a blustery, cloudy day.we were able to get close to them.It is funny seeing your guide all bundled up on a 75 degree day, when we left Colorado it was 15 above!
