Hello again from the Florida Keys! This week we were greeted for the most part by stable weather and mostly moderate breezes. Our normal easterly breezes seem to help clear the waters surrounding Flamingo a bit and daytime air temps in the 80's brought water temps right back up. Monday was a scouting day- checked a few spots in the western bay that I hadn't been to in awhile and also explored some new water. Let me tell you, it still scares me to see sharks that are over 7 ft. Tuesday the weather was unbelievable- virtually no wind all day and blue skies until the late afternoon. A dropping tide in Snake Bight provided plenty of action with trout, jacks, ladyfish, and a few reds. Found some rolling juvenile tarpon at a spot of mine and had fun watching their aerial acrobatics. Wednesday found me putting up the Christmas tree. Thursday it was blowing 20+. Stayed close to home and had plenty of rod bending fun with snapper, blue runners, cero mackerel and some spanish mackerel. Today, light breezes and bright sun with a good tide meant bonefishing. We went 0 for 4. Unfortunately, bonefish aren't usually receptive to having something fall from the sky on top of their head. Have to lead them a bit more... Until next time.
