Fished Sunday 12/11/05 after shovelling out boat, and van (#$119) . Stayed in the NY Harbor. Landed 45 stripers --127-3- ( dropped a lot more ) to 27 inches. Tagged 10 of them. All caught on jigs off the bottom. Had to move around alot, PM west winds made it difficult or would have caught alot more. Friends of mine who transported a boat from Jersey City to Point Pleasant reported TONS of birds working from about 4 miles south of Sandy Hook. Here's some photos ofthe boat at ramp in the snow, and of boat and tow vehicle.

Hey,

That looks a lot like my boat only bigger! What year?

Mine's not nearly as tricked out as yours - that looks like a nice rig!

BTW, congrats on still getting out there!

Great Fishing & Good Time. Looks like being a die-hard pays off. If the water doesnot get to cold these fish may be around into January.
FYI same conditions off the NJ High Lands Sat. & Sun.
Birds all over but fish on the small side.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL & MERRY CHRISTMAS

Inspirational pics. I too am still striper fishing here in Boston (even though they left months ago!). Nothing like not giving up. I launched my kayak through a snowbank and got a 37" fish yesterday.

I would imagine that there are plenty of spots in the hudson where these fish winter-over, but how many will fish all winter?

The only limitation is our willingness to go catch them!

Chuckster it's a 22 footer 1999 I'm happy with it. usually by now I'm shopping for a new one, but I'll probably just repower it with a new engine soon, over 1500 hours. Can beat the Evinrudes and Johnson even though many disagree.

Nice rig ya got there, mine's just a little 19-footer (1995) with a Johnson 90 V4.

Great for sneaking around on our Cape Cod flats, but a little dicey when the wind picks up. The low skiff gunwales are not going to make the mission once the new baby becomes a regular onboard.

"Honey, I'm worried about the little guy falling overboard - I think we need a new boat..."

Should work... ;)

I like the HS decal on the van!

Here's my rig:

A small lightning bolt on the suv might match! :brow My wife and family gave up on me! I think they would rather have me drinking and chasing women, at least we wouldn't be broke, and would see me once in a while! --126-3-
