Well I have been living in Puerto Rico for a little over a year. I found some really good spots fishing from shore (salt water, brackish, fresh). I am always looking for new spots & new tips. Basically I have some really hot tarpons spots that has a 99.9% catch ratio. base spot. And a super super hush hush large mouth bass and tarpon spot. Good large mouth and peacock
To be totally honest I didn't know tarpon could live where large mouth did. I know tarpon are tough but I really didn't know how. Know lie I caught over 20 tarpon and 2 large mouth bass in one spot.
Lures of choice.
From the beach-White&red or just white. To be honest smaller the better. Yozuri by far the best lure of all-time. The pins series work the best. I kill the gulftopsail pampano. Locals get mad b/c they only get 2 lbs and I through them back like all my other fish. Also I caught a bunch of these goat like fish. They were very white with long whiskers. Right on shore were it breaks. I cast right into it and I pull these odd fish out. We were amazed.
Lagoons or rivers/run offs of Lagoons-Blue, mackerl color, blue & white, Pink and blue. Size doesn't matter but to tell the truth mackerl color around 1/4 once is killer. I normally catch a mix bag of large tarpon (25-50 lbs), mackerl (2-7 lbs), & baracudas.
Lakes and run offs. Yozuri 3-d's white. 1/8 to 1/4 once. Catch a lot of bass mainly peacocks and tarpon on the run offs. I tried every lure I owned and caught quite a few but the 3-d lipless out fished them all.
Let's trade tips and spots. I fish all over and it's tricky to find new spots but I find them.
