I will be fishing from my 28 Center Console in Naples on January looking for any signs of life by any means of fishing...prefer the Fly but will try anything (#$119) Any suggestions??? I have fished the 10000 Islands many times but will be forced into deeper waters. Do any feeding fish run topwater offshore that time of year?

I don't fish that area but here's what I'd do. First off get in touch with the local tackle shops to find out where the kingfish are holding offshore as well as info on the artificial reefs/wrecks off of Naples. Next, be prepared to cast net bait as well as bring lots of chum. With a good chum line spiced up with crippled livies you should be able to draw fish up for your flies. That time of year it will be macks, jacks, the occasional cobia, bonita (the IGFA calls them "little tunny" - not exactly fat alberts, but close), plus kings... The hard part will be catching the bait.... Good luck, post about how your trip was...
