Is the new quick change Tibor worth the extra money? Seems like a lot of extra money for the quick change feature. Is it that difficult to change spool with the standard Tibor or should I get an Able? How easy is it to change spools with the Able? Trying to make up my mind on what reel I sould get.
Thanks FishHawk

Not sure what the cost difference is between quick change and standard Tibor, or if there are other benefits to the quick change series. I will say I have both a Tibor and Abel, I don't find changing spools to be overly burdensome on either. Good luck. Both are very nice reels.

I'm with Jenny. I don't find it difficult to change spools on either Tibor or Abel reels. But if changing spools is something you do a lot of , no question that the Tibor QC should make things easier.

Personally, I like the original Tibors better. I believe in having two or three reels so that I don't have to change spools.

I agree. Changing spools on the fly (so to speak) can cause problems from simply missing out on an opportunity to outright disaster, such as dropping something in the water. And with the cost of Abels and Tibors (I have an Abel), it would only hurt that much worse.
I usually bring two complete outfits with one being loaded with an intermediate line and the second being loaded with one those 'permanent' shooting head lines, such as Teeny, Depth Charge and so forth.
As an aside, I only break out the expensive stuff on 'worthy' opponents. Schoolies and similar sized species get the 'Pflueger' treatment.
