Found some fun things under the tree! --127-3-
New tying light with arms to hold background and a magnifier lens for my failing eyes.
also some new Dr. Slick scissors & Wasatch tying tools.
Time to start tieing...... :)

Jim,
Nice setup but, way to neet for a creative tyer like yourself. ;)
Like to see it with a work in process.
And BTW, I didn't know you were a lefty.

Roger: the fly wallet is made by FinSport. I think I got it thru Hunter's. I just got ,for Xmas, a larger fly carrier/organizer by Shimano (for those big Herring, Bunker, Squid patterns)

Scruffy: Yup I'm a lefty. Usually there is a big clutter/mess when I'm tying. Haven't had the time to start using the new stuff yet. I set it up to see how it worked.....now it's back under the tree (for a SHORT while).

BTW: my wife.... aka Santa tells me the lamp w/ holder/magnifier was designed for "sewing"....not flytying.
The arms and round carosel easily come off the lamp....leaving a presentable table lamp....when not tying.

Very nice! I can't tie anything smaller than #4 without a magnifying glass myself either.

Santa was nice to me, too. Then the dog ate the bucktail strips and I've got a bag of misc deer hair all mixed up. As I'm starting to tie now, please help with some beginner questions...
Where do you source (on line) your bucktails etc and what is the best head glue to use? Do you use just ceramic bobbins - I have one of each and the regular one seems to shred the thread. Hw do you keep the sparkley thread from twisting around when you spin the bobbin on the hooks?
Thanks and I'll continue to read more..

The bucktails from Saltwater Edge are the best I've seen.
