I'd say it's porcine.
I use it for antenna and the "business" end of
a lot of my shrimp patterns.

nope and nope --125-3
As for the Woddy Worm Nymph, notice that the material in question has dark tips, not light as on the fly.

We have a winner --127-3-
It's the second coat on our Border Terrier Mugsy. Grows nice and thick in the winter then I strip it off come spring.

I have been trying to figure out a way to capture the fur from the tail trimming on my golden. I would think the water repellancy of the golden fur would be great for streamers. He has more coat than almost any golden I've seen. The photo below is at 1.5 yrs old and he is now 2.5 and their is much more feathering now.

Don't be afraid of using dog hair. I use wolf for my rusty rats. :brow
I must admit I was going to say ground hog, looked really close to me. I use ground hog on a pattern given to me by a old Marimichi guide some years ago.

NShoreFly:
Your Golden looks a lot like my guy Norton (in my profile). I've tied flies with his fur and unless it's the courser hair along the ridgeline, it waterlogs quickly and fouls.
I've used some of the longer feathery fur from his tail and flags, but it saturates quickly. Plus it just plain ****es him off... ;)

I used my dogs hair for a fly pattern once...

I'll second what Chuckster says about the golden's hair. The long hairs fouled very easily.
