Long Island NY help

I have an Uncle who lives in Glen Cove NY. He wants me to teach him to fly fish striped bass this coming spring/summer. Can anyone tell me if the the fishing is good and any other info?

There is outstanding fly fishing in your area all Spring. Oyster bay and Cold Spring Harbor are very strong. My advice would be to share a day with a local guide. Campsite Sport Shop in Huntington is a great resource too. They can suggest a good guide. Things get going a bit toward end of April and really heat up by May.

Hempstead Harbor is a terrific place to fly fish at that time of the year. Lot's of stripers are around. Also as stated above Cold Spring Harbor and Oyster Bay should also be on your list.
