Good grief! The nomenclature of the various components of the materials available is astounding. Fun though. After days of searching I found that I have a whip finisher thingy. I have no idea how to use it and on the tape I have, the guy says don't use a whip finisher (without showing me what one is); just use half hitches. How do you use one?
Does the glue used give off a scent?
I'll see if the flies I've tied hold up tommorow on the flats. It will be nice to get a bone on my home made fly.

I know very few people who use the whip finisher. I think their applicable for smaller freshwater flies. But not needed for bigger saltwater ones. A few half hitches and a dose of glue will be fine.

Yes the glue. or head cement, will, like most adhesives, give off a scent as it dries/hardens.
