I am heading out to Eastham for a wedding this weekend and was wondering if there are any good areas for flyfishing. I have had luck this past weekend at Wollaston Beach on the fly but my friends wedding will be keeping me away.
Also, if someone could direct me to a local tackle/ fly shop, it would be appreciated.
Thanks

I can not advise you to a location but I would recomend that you stop in at The Goose Hummock Shop , I believe it is on Rt 28, top Fly Shop.

I have had good luck in the herring river, next to first encounter beach. Go to first encounter beach, follow the road down to the end, walk straight down the river from the road. You'll have to wade out into the river, it's very shallow but has an excellent channel that's very visable in all but the lowest light. It's about 2/3 of the way to the other side. I have consistently caught fish there at all times of the day as long as it's about an hour past the top of the outgoing tide. It also gets very little fishing pressure. I'd check with the Eastham police since you're not supposed to be there after dark. - good luck

Sunken Meadow. Walk to the right. Top of the tide. Wear your waders.

Sunken Meadow is worth a look. As Peter said, go to the right, on jeties and then past houses. Good luck. Ed

How about Salt Pond in Eastham center? You can park right off the highway at the town landing and walk around to the inlet. I know that the blues and stripers make their way in there it's just a question of timing. Perhaps it's too early in the season for fish to be around the outside yet? I'm not sure, I do know that I spent many August evenings doing battle in there when I was a kid.

Yeah, there will be fish there but they won't be keepers. Beautiful spot though..,.
