Damariscotta Maine area

My mother-in-law just bought a house near Damariscotta. Where are the best places to wade for stripers on the fly?

I guess you ought to try the Darmiscotta River- or off Pemiquid. or the Sheepscott. I am a guide and I fish strippers for pleasure on the ST. George,,, by wading and once in awhile a boat. But they haven't started yet.

I'm not sure how close it is, but you can try Popham Beach on Cape Small. Probably about a 15 - 20 minute drive from Bath.

Dont overlook the fresh water fishing in Lake Damariscotta.I was a camper at Camp Kieve 40 years ago and I enjoyed great fishing for largemouth bass, pickeral, perch, and the occasional salmon.I returned to Kieve a few years ago and the lake is still beautiful.
