Conversion !

I took a GREEN GHOST streamer an CONVERTED it to a FLATWING! using my short feathers this one is 6" . will have to do one bigger.

Salty, Those conversions work well! My best night time fly is a conversion of a Jock Scot to a flatwing :-) It's a B***** to tie, but worth it.

I buy whole capes of silver pheasant. I tie a lot of ice-out streamers. The
feather is the best I know of to simulate a gill plate.
I don't use too much jungle cock any more. I think the new hol/graph
eyes are more effective in less than crystal clear water.
one other streamer tactic I use in salt water flys is a "wound" feather
[red to simulate blood] in the tail. I have found that injured bait gets
hit before healthy bait

SALTYDOG, fly looks great. To me, tying flys is using imagination and
not just cloning someone elses.

MOXIE, Ive done WONDED ones, heres one Ive used befor.I toss it up on the ROCKS an let it DROP into the surf an BAM! Ive even cast it up aginst the beach an let it WASH into the surf an BAM!

Moxie, great tips. Saltydog, Nice wounded fish fly.... I've used the same techniques with flies and plugs with great success.
