Fished Quabog pond last weekend. What a day!! On the ice by 6:15 am Saturday. First fish by 6:30 am. Personally bought 2 dozen shiners and out by 9:30. Good mix of bass 10-18" and pickeral 12-25" Also managed a Crappie, Perch and Bullhead. One fish short of the Quabog slam. That one fish,a pike at 9.5 lbs, came out one of my holes 10 minutes after I had to start pulling type for lack of bait. Another monster pickeral 3.5 lbs came one one of my type but caught by another as I had one of my many doubles of the day.
I am away on business for the rest of the season but what a way to end it. --126-3-

Good luck to those who get out for the rest of the year.

That's a great ice fishing pond. I pulled a 5 lb 12 oz largemouth out of there some years ago through the ice, plus a lot of pickerel. Never had much luck with pike there though.

South Pond nearby is also good.

Back in the day, South Pond was my favorite ice fishing pond. That place has an amazing population of hold over brown and rainbow trout.
