I am looking for a reasonably priced reel to complete a Diamondback Backwater 9'9wt. I don't need too much backing, (100 to 150 yds would be more than enough...) I will be fishing the Hudson for Stripers and maybe a yearly trip to CC or to Jersey. Any opinions of the STH? (#$119) Thanks!
Teton Tioga #10. Go with the "Magnum" model, around $180

I have a Tioga on my 9wt. and have caught stripers, jacks, steelhead, king salmon, blues, and false albacore with it. Holds plenty of backing and has a decent drag. Thing has been great! I've fished it hard for 8 or 9 years. Spare spools are cheap and swapping them out is much easier than on my Abel Super 8.

I have used Valentine model 375 anti reverse reels on my Backwater rods for years. Great combination.

I have a J Ryall 8/9 Wt. that is working well after 2 years of salt water use. Other reels I've had had rust problems even with a fresh water rinse after each use. The J Ryall has a better anodized finish that apppears to have eliminated the rust problem.
