STILL WAITING FOR ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!
Going to Hilton Head the first week in May, want to try for Redfish and Sea Trout. Looking for info on a good Guide or any other info that may be of help.

Wife says I can go and play for a day, she gets six days, I get one, I think I smell a rat.

Want to fly fish, have plenty of striper stuff, I assume I can get by with some of that, I have plenty of clousers, crabs, gurglers etc.

Don't know if there is any DIY places to try if I have a few hours to wade around on not or if you can fish from the beach but I think I might need a liscense for that.

Anyway any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks C&D, your the only reply I got, I always had a a hard time explaining a $50 greens fee, how does one go about explaining $500 for a guide for one day and having to buy you own lunch to boot. Anyway thanks.

I ran a boat in HHI for a while years back. The fishing in May can be pretty good for that area. The only "flats" guys back then were out of Beufort. They were an Orvis endoursed operation than. The cobia run is pretty good at that time. You may want to reconcider the fly thing; the waters are very stained and not a great spot and fish location in May. They can clear up in the winter making trout and reds a good possibility. If you are set on flyfishing, there should be some tailing reds on oyster beds. It has been over 6 years since I was there, but there is a Captain out of Skull Creek. Ask for Gumbo, if you want cobia, this is your guy (if he is still around).

you can try Low Country Outfitters @ 1-800-935-9666. ask for Travers Davis. Good guys who know there stuff. I was just in there today selling tackle to him. they are located in moss creek, Hilton Head. Cobia....not there yet
