I am going down this weekend to do a little fishing and want to know how the fishing is and what they are hitting. This doesn't have to be just flies. Thank you

You might want to check out "bonito"'s new website which posts current Vineyard fishing reports. It's located at www.flyfishingthevineyard.com . I was on the ISland the last couple of weeks and had good luck at all the early Spring spots. We are all waiting for the worm hatch to begin in the ponds. Propably will start on May 17th or so. Good luck.

Fishing was good last weekend. If you're going to fish State Beach try the jetties at the ends of the Big and Little Bridges to Sengekontacket Pond. Best fished on a outgoing tide on the down current side of the opening. Another good place to try on that stretch is the 'bend in the road' past the Big Bridge heading into E'town. Good early season fly would be a clouser. My favorite early season light spinning lure is a Spofford Joppa Jig. I'm stuck in NH this w/e.
good luck & TL

Phil, why did I know you would respond to this post? Don't forget to watch for speeding cars knocking your car door off when you park around state beach. Bill Frank

Good to hear from you. Ahh yes, the good ole summertime on the Vinyud. "Kids, be REALLY careful when you open up that door" I've been going over quite a bit - unfortunately for way too much house maintenance and far too little fishing. Hope to fix that over Memorial Day weekend. If you get over this year please give me a call.
