Fished clams on outgoing at IBSP from 10:30 till 3PM today.
Beautiful day on the beach, only which I could have shared it with some fish.

How do you tie a clam fly...got any pics ;)

Believe it or not, I read an article some time back about "nymphing" a clam fly in the surf line after a fall Nor'easter knocks the real stuff up and onto the beaches lining the south shore of Long Island. A few years ago, during a fall CCA Surf Tournament in the Rockaways, the only bait the bass would take was a whole clam. I managed a small schoolie on a fly but the larger fish wanted only the soft stuff. No fish on chunks, peanuts or such. Mind you the beach was lined with a path of washed up surf clams 15' wide down the entire strecth towards Breazy.

Just food for thought which I even thought about seeing all those clams. Get the fryer!
