Tied these up with DNA material. Hope to use for reef fish in the Bahamas...... and May Stripers! --127-3-

They look great but I would try casting them to check the foul factor. I've had some issues with the DNA clouser fouling.

Allmost everything I tie is with DNA, especially Clousers, A little Softex on the top layer, to just before the bend and forget about fouling. Gorgeous ties and the fish will think so too!

Nice flies Jim. I had trouble with em fouling, now I put a light coat of epoxy up to the bend and they're fine.
Very nice work Jim!!
I like the DNA material for clousers, they're on my list for this week.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try the softex idea to prevent potential fouling. ;) :)

Softex is a type of cement used in fly tying which, once dried, is softer and more flexible than epoxy. It's not as soft silicone, but it's a lot easier to use.

Doesn't yellow either. comes in a wide mouth jar. Very Toxic and vaporous.

Yes...When I'm using it, I only open the jar for the moment I need it (usually 10 or less seconds) then close it. Also, I don't let my 9 year old daughter in the area where I tie when I'm using it. The scent is very strong.

Alternatively, you can use a product called SoftBody. Comes in thick and thin versions with similar principles to softex but it is water based and non-toxic. Not sure it is as durable as the Softex but I found the softex versions will also come apart after a decent number of fish as well.
