Hey Salty,
Nice pattern. I like the use of the flex tubing to build the body out, and give some profile with the DNA. I may need to experiment with that a bit.
Thanks

Nice. I have a load of DNA I got with a gift certificate at Hunter's and I've been wondering what to do with it. That little bubble is a great idea, plus it adds flash and profile in the middle. It should push water nicely as well.
Any suggestions on color combos and sizes to imitate specific bait?

J, what every the bait fish are where you fish, you can tie almost everything you need w/ 3 of any color combo. give it a shot.

Hi Guys
Ive been lurking for too long now. Heres my attempt at a DNA baitfish.
I love DNA I think it makes bad tyers like me look like they know what they are doing. Its a bit like cooking. Im a bad cook but if you give me fresh pasta some cream and bacon then I can cook a sexy meal.

You catch huge stripers and protect the species. We catch the little juvinille bass that have not grown to spawning size. our govenment are content to watch the species destroyed
As soon as they get to the spawning grounds they get scooped up by 2 trawlers that drag a giant net between the 2 .Its a highly efficient way of destroying a species.
Anyway heres my first bass of 2006 caught this afternoon on a DNA clouser.I bet you guys have never seen a tiddler like that before :) They will grow to 15 - 20 lbs if given a chance

GOOD FOR YOU, they should be FUN on a light weight rod. here's a little story on LIGHT WEIGHT. there is a spot everyone fishe's lost of tide washing in-out depending on the time. 5-8 ' of water depending on the tide, everyone using standard 9-10wt casting fly.using sink tip's
I got this NICE 4-5wt an for KICKS-GIGGLES I took it one day. as we drifted over the same place everyone else did as soon as the fly saw a fish it was GONE. it was un-reel. every drift. fish-on. the biggest was 22" we took turns using the rod it was just to much fun. some times LIGHT is BETTER. I believe the light weight in this case KEPT the fly just OFF the BOTTOM. while everyone else was on the bottom.
