Decided to make a quick stop on the ride home from work and practice with my new baitcaster. I threw metal for awhile with no luck so I switched to a 4" Storm. The first cast and bang I am tight to a fish, a 33" Pike. The first Pike I have ever caught. Two casts later and another bump. Then nothing for about 10 casts.

I moved a shot distance up river and a couple of casts later I catch my second Pike ever, a 23"er. A few more casts and I was done, soaking wet but happy.

Yesterday you said you caught an albie in the west end of the canal...should we really beleive this?

If this is true...Nice!

Are you coming down today? If so give me a call I will join you.

Sickness,

Talk about a fair weather fisherman, I drove 2 hours to get the skunk in your back yard during a monsoon and you couldn't make the 1 mile drive to meet me. But, as soon as the sun is shining you are ready to roll. Sort of like when I am Albie fishing at sun up and you roll out of bed at the crack of noon and complain about the traffic when you get there.

I probably won't be down today, I'll just look for Smallies or trout around here, maybe cover more water looking for Pike. I did catch one holdover in Scortons yesterday though.

Howie and Tef,

Thanks for the congrats.
