Hello-
I'm new to the Salem area, and am looking for advice on where some decent spots might be. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

you can try deveraux beach in marblehead (not sure if the drop off is too steep i know the bait chuckers love it there).. and perhaps some of the other shallow beaches along the beverly shore.. toward manchester and magnolia.. or if you want to head south a bit.. a lot of wadeable shore from revere to winthrop..

Go for a drive at a LOW tide ,check some places out. There are a lot of places to fish. I could go on all day telling you where to go...from Maine all the way to P-town. Not all the spots are the same ,considering wind direction, the highs + lows of the tide. Early season, lots ,or should I say, some start with the Danvers River(@Kernwood CC). Keep your eyes open here in the near future as the reports start to come in.

Thank you-
I took my kayak for a paddle around Kernwood CC last Saturday- it seems like a great area, although I got skunked. I guess it is still a little early. Great to be out, though. Thanks again!

Kernwood is a great area, and will be filled with schoolies shortly, but so will any river between the Danvers and the mighty merimac. I would head north from Salem, and check any and all spots along RT 127. Since you have a yak, just launch and look and you'll be in great water and should be able to find some fish....

Nice, I will be loading up the 20LB test to ensure a safe haul! I haven't even tried yet. Did anyone get to do any areal releases?

the next few weeks I would stick to scouting out the rivers, if possible in the bottom half of the tides. Fishing is better, and you'll be able to see the structure and figure out areas to fish at higher tides....If you see a dude chowing three live mackeral you have spoted soundking!

Fantastic! That would be a feat worth checking out.
Thanks again for the advice. See you out there someday...
