Very cool Pete! Nice tie indeed!!!!!
What hook is that .... or do you bend one up to meet the need? Is there a lead or tungsten keel?
Looking more at it..... it's really neat how you built up the profile with minimum materials.
You know....We should fish together again.... :-%
and maybe trade some flies.

??????
(1) Did this hook have a worm holder barb, and if it did, did you file it
or just leave it.
(2) The trailing hackle; tied and whip finished.
(3) What year is that dime?

I stopped bending hooks after finding these hooks by Gama and Owner...(no worm holder barb)
If the dorsal material drag is adequate, NO ballast needed for the "keel" to be effective.

Pete,
Nice pattern, I tied one up last night and it looks great. I like the worm hook because it's nice and thin for good penetration. I also use these hooks on my Crease flies it gives a large open gap between the fly and the hook point.
