Greetings All,
Can anyone tell me where the stocking areas are of the SE MA stocked streams such as South River in Marshfield, Eel' river and Town Brook in Plymouth? I'd like to do get out during the week and get some fly fishing in, but I'm not sure which areas of these streams would be the most productive. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

I can't see why the South River in Marshfield would be stocked. It's tidal up to the dam at the Veterans Park @ 3A and 139 and there isn't much to speak of for an impoundment above that point. I'd concentrate on the Indian Head (but I do not know of the locations there that get stocked)

It's stocked above the dam and mostly for the kid's derby. Personally, I fish ponds or head to the cape and fish in Mashpee.

Try Indian Head River which connects with the North River and Third Herring. All three are stocked. You can wade in Indian Head. You can access it off Indian Head Drive in Hanover.

To add to that, RT 53 to Broadway to Indian Head Dr. If you're lucking, you could also pull out a nice shad or two, which should be running real soon, if not already.

as of last week there were no shad to be seen, some large suckers though, that initially i thought were shad....its been stocked with trout at least once this year, if you access it at the boat ramp you can fish upstream to a small fall, unfortunately its impassible now because of several blowdowns, but man, it looks like a good spot for a sea run brown....if you park on w.elm st in pembroke/hanover, cross the street and you can fish from the blow downs i spoke of up stream to the bridge, or fish downstream if that appeals to you...#16-18 black caddis when they are coming off slays them, also a fair number of mayflies on the river too, for stocked fish they can become real selective quick.....good luck

Finally got out to wet a line last night. Went to the Indianhead. Water is very low. TT a couple spin fishermen that were there for shad....no shad yet but unless we get some rain they're gonna have a tough time getting up into the pond. The fish ladder is barely running and nothing really coming over the lower part of the dam. The river is very shallow. No herring to be seen either.

I did manage a to take a few and miss a few on a small Para. adams. all browns. Also tried swinging some wets with no luck.
