I want to see what everyone thinks is the best saltwater fly line. Particulary in the 6-9wt floating lines. I know everyone has their prefered choice so it will be interesting to see the results from this forum. I prefer Sage's Equator taper how about yall.

I seem to have mostly SA Bonefish mastery lines though I do have a RIO bonefish taper that I like a lot as well. I still have some of the older sand coloured SA Masterys in use. I gotta think I prefer them to the newer horizon lines but it's getting harder and harder to find the old sand lines anymore (even on EBay).

I have never tired the sage equator lines, but have heard good things about them.

I will be trying out some new Orvis Wonderlines next week in Ascension Bay. The Bonefish series in #7 & #9 and the Tarpon series #10. I will post my results when I get back.

For bonefish, I really like the Rio Clear tip. Shoots great, picks up easily, and gets the fly to the bottom. Have a Mastery serious full intermediate for fishing off coral heads: best shooting line I've ever cast - really generates some line speed. Drawback to the full intermediate is that it dosen't allow second chances- too tough to pick-up line.

as a guide with 25 years of experience, i've shoot most of them in different conditions and temperatures , and have come to a conclussion about which are the best,, Orvis wonderline for fishing off a boat and SA when wading, even my clients have easy adjustment into this lines and better shooting compare to other brands,,,,,,,,, a line sometimes is as important and in most cases MORE than the rod you use, looking at it , they are the cheap'st part of your intire outfit (rod, reel, backing) so you must consider in not only spending good money on rod and reel , but also on your fly-line !!!!!!!!! i have had the chance , not only to shoot many lines in the market , but also shoot with most of the rods there is for this type of fishing,,, either thru endorsments or clients bringing them for trip,,,, rods and lines are slightly conected to each other and provide best performance if you match the right line and rod,, just like a sport car and it's wheels !!!!!!!! you must have the right wheels to achive and enjoy the full power of it !!!!!!!!! and at all times, conditions and situations !!!!!!!!!!! same way with rod and lines,,,,, so you buy the rod for the line you want to shoot,,,, lines in most cases are not the problem as people think when they deside to throw them away,, all are good, but if rod you're using with it ,was not ment to shoot that line ,, then you get no where and go thru many dessapointments while fishing rather than enjoying it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! best rods for the orvis and SA lines are, sage rplx-i's, loomis glx's and temple fork ticr-x's,, ,,, no need to look no more,, i personally use sage's and tfo's, ,,,,,,,,, by they way, i just got the new cabelas tropical saltwater flie lines , and have been using them on my pass trips,, booooy, they did a good job on them,,, they shoot and perform similiar to the others,, only problem and can't advise about it, is how long the will last ,, in terms of stress we put in them,,, thats one thing i still have to check,,, the most surprising thing in them also , is the price !!!!!!!!!! good deal for such a good line,,,

regards to all and many tight lines

If you get a chance you really need to try Wulff's Bermuda triangle taper lines. Have been using them for about 3 years now and they are awesome! Now come with a new J3 coating. Thier lost tip and moncore clear lines are just the best I have yet to cast. :) Clients seem to love them as well...
