I checked Jordan Pond in Shrewsbury. It sounded like a good place to take my 4 year old fishing after work but I could not find a good access to it. Every road, dirt road I tried took me to private property. The pond being stocked I have to believe it would be easily accessible. Any help would be appreciated.

You can also park next to the power station, or next to the first house where the dirt road starts.

Cops & firemen just pull there cars 1/2 off the road (on the sidewalk) where the park benches are!

Thanks for the info. My four year old and I went twice this weekend. We fished by the power station. He did a number on sunfish so both of us were happy. :) We saw very little trout action which was surprising with the recent stocking. On Sunday a ~12 year old was catching bass after bass with a basic bobber and worm setup. The bass and sunfish are spawing and are easy to spot which got my son excited for two hours. This is a pretty cool place to take a kid fishing.

Jordan pond gets warm VERY fast...the key to catching stocked trout (w/ kids) is to cast as far as you can to get to the deeper (colder) water.
Power bait on the bottom can't be beat there.

What I also used to do there is use my waders and cast 00 spinners or small spoons into the deeper water.
