I just Goodyeart Marathon radials on my trailer and need some feedback on the correct air pressure. The dealer told me to set them at 40 lbs cold, this sounds low to me as the tires are rated for 50. I'm hauling an 18 ft boat, est loaded weight is 2200 lbs and an aluminum trailer.

Ricochet,
I have a set (4) of those on my Ranger Trail trailer and I keep them at the recommended 50 psi. I've never had a problem and the boat tows nice.
My boat is 20 ft. and about 2700 lbs. wet and loaded for a day on the water.
Maybe your dealer knows something about these tires on a single axle trailer compared to a tandem axle.
I hope this helps.
Chris

I have same tires for three years and leave them at the reccomended pressure of 50 lb cold. Boat trails great.

My LoadRite single axel trailer manual recommends 60psi. Boat and motor are approx 2600 dry and have been pulling last two years with no problems.
