Anybody been to Great Inagua? Can you recommend flies? And which species did you see/catch? I've heard that the permit fishing is pretty good - can any one confirm? What about tarpon or snook? Thanks for any info.

My wife and I have been interested in going there for a few years now. But it sems I can really never really obtain a reliable first hand report from anyone?
All we ever hear is 'iffy, spartan-like accomodations, no rental cars, nothing to do, no way to get around, etc'
I'll bet there is very good, but as of yet undiscoverd bonefish areas there. It's just the lack of everything else that sort of directs the masses elsewhere.

A few years ago there was an article in saltwater flyfishing magazine...I'll look for it.....in a nutshell....the article spoke of only one guide on the island...some pic's of very big bones....the guide boat was an aluminum bass type boat..perhaps a search of the magazine sites will produce some info....it is on my list for sure....as I am trying to fish each out island ....translation:
I need a winning Lottery ticket to fulfill that dream... :-%
