I'm installing one...my first chartplotter (and, I hope, my first "fishfinder" worth a darn)...anybody have any experience/comments? -Tom C.

Not a hard thing to deal with, all you have to do is read the directions, especially any red colored sheets. Read anything to do with installation and operation. Use the fuse they give you. When you have it going, get a optional
Fishing Hot Spots chip for your area, about $100.00. Now you have something special.

Thanks, BF...do you own exact model?...it comes with separate "paddlewheel" waterspeed sensor...Lowrance doesn't address the installation of this in any depth, but my sense would be that it should be located some distance away from the sonar puck, which trails it by a few inches...I think I have sufficient cable length to mount it on opposite side of transom, so I guess that's where it'll go. That said, I presume that, operationally, I will be able to readily distinguish between GPS speed and paddle speed...I know..."READ THE MANUAL!"...gotta lay off the Sox games on cable! -scupp3r
